About us
Deen with Asfiya is run by Ustadha Aysath Asfiya (BA Islamic Studies, Preston International College) from Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. We offer live one-to-one online classes in Tajweed, Tilawah and Hifz for women, Islamic studies and surah memorisation for children, and printable Islamic ebooks.
Accounts
- You must be 18 or older to create an account. Children join through a parent or guardian’s account.
- Please give accurate details and keep your password private. You are responsible for activity on your account.
- We may suspend an account that is misused, shared, or used to harm others.
Classes
- Classes are live and held on Google Meet. You need a stable internet connection and a device with a camera and microphone.
- After your free trial, we agree a weekly timetable with you. Class times show in your own time zone in your dashboard.
- Please join on time. The Join class button opens 10 minutes before the class starts. A class is not extended if you join late.
- If you cannot attend, please tell us at least 12 hours before the class and we will offer a makeup class, subject to availability. Classes missed without notice are not made up.
- If the teacher has to cancel a class, we will always offer a makeup class or a refund for that class.
- Progress depends on regular attendance and practice. We do not guarantee that a learner will finish a course or memorise a set amount in a given time.
Fees and payment
- Classes are paid monthly, in advance. The fee for each learner depends on the plan chosen and is shown in your dashboard.
- Fees are due on the 1st of each month and are overdue after the 7th. If a fee stays unpaid, classes may be paused until it is paid.
- Ebook prices are shown on the ebook page and are paid once.
- Payments are processed securely by Razorpay, by UPI, card, net banking or other methods Razorpay offers. Prices are in Indian rupees for India and in US dollars or your local currency elsewhere.
- We may change our prices. A new price applies from the next month, and we will tell you before it changes.
Refunds and cancellations are explained in our refund and cancellation policy.
Conduct in class
- Please be respectful, dress modestly, and join from a quiet place.
- For young children, a parent or guardian should stay nearby.
- Please do not record, share or post classes without the teacher’s permission.
- We may end a class or the arrangement if a learner or family is abusive or disrespectful.
Ebooks and teaching materials
- Ebooks and class materials are © Deen with Asfiya. When you buy an ebook, you may print it as many times as you need for your own family, or for your own classroom if you are a teacher.
- You may not resell, share, upload or distribute the files, or claim them as your own.
- We take care that every verse, hadith and dua is accurate and sourced. If you find a mistake, please tell us and we will correct it.
Limitation of liability
We work hard to keep the classes and the website running smoothly, but we cannot promise they will always be available or error-free, for example during internet or Google Meet outages. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us for the month in which the claim arose.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute will be handled by the courts in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows the latest version, and we will tell account holders about important changes.
