Who we are
Deen with Asfiya (deenwithasfiya.com) offers live one-to-one online Quran classes and printable Islamic ebooks. It is run by Ustadha Aysath Asfiya from Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. In this policy, “we” and “us” mean Deen with Asfiya.
What we collect
When you create an account
- Your name, email address and, if you add it, your phone or WhatsApp number.
- Your password, which is stored only as a secure one-way hash. We can never see it.
- Your time zone, so class times show correctly where you live.
- If you sign in with Google: your name, email address and profile photo from Google. We never see your Google password.
About learners
- Each child’s first name, optional date of birth and the course they are learning.
- Class times, attendance, and short lesson notes written by the teacher.
Payments
- The fees you owe and pay, the payment method and the payment reference.
- Card, UPI and bank details are entered on Razorpay’s secure pages and handled by Razorpay. We never see or store your card or bank details.
When you contact us or book a trial
- What you send us on WhatsApp, email or Instagram, and the details you give when booking a trial on Calendly.
Automatically
- A sign-in cookie that keeps you logged in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
- Your chosen currency, saved in your own browser.
- Standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) kept for security for a short time.
How we use it
- To run your classes: scheduling, the Join class button, attendance and lesson notes.
- To manage fees and send receipts and reminders.
- To deliver ebooks you buy.
- To reply to your messages and support you.
- To keep the site and your account secure and prevent misuse.
We do not sell, rent or trade your information, and we never use it for advertising.
Children’s privacy
Accounts for children are created and managed by a parent or guardian. We collect only what is needed to teach the child, and we do not ask children for their own email address or phone number. A parent can see, correct or delete their child’s information at any time from their dashboard or by contacting us.
Classes are held live on Google Meet. We do not record classes unless a parent or sister asks us to and agrees beforehand. We ask that a parent stays nearby during classes for young children.
Who we share it with
We share information only with the services that help us run the classes and the shop, and only what each one needs:
- Razorpay, to process payments.
- Google, for Google sign-in and Google Meet classes.
- Calendly, when you book a free trial.
- WhatsApp and email, when you message us.
- Our hosting provider, which stores the website and its database on secure servers.
We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of a child.
How long we keep it
We keep your account while it is active. If you ask us to close it, we delete your and your children’s personal information within 30 days, except payment records, which the law requires us to keep for up to 8 years.
How we protect it
- The whole site uses HTTPS encryption.
- Passwords are hashed, sign-in attempts are limited, and only the teacher and the admin can see learner records.
- Payments are handled entirely by Razorpay, which is PCI-DSS compliant.
Your rights
Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and similar laws where you live, you can ask to see the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or withdraw your consent. Most details can be changed in your dashboard. For anything else, email us and we will reply within 7 days.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page, and tell account holders by email about any important change.
